....wine. Tequila can serve the same purpose of celebration!! In honor of Latino Heritage month and the Bicentenial of Mexico's Independence Day.

Not to sure where.....

.....this is going... I have one thing in mind and something else comes out when i start painting. I want this to come out really nice with so much detail that you can stare at it forever and everytime you see it again you notice something new. It's sort of what an altar would look like if I were to pass. Assuming that I would have my own kids and grandchildren that might put forth such an effort to create something that would be in my honor. With a sense of the fashionista in me, the artist in me, and the always wandering restless soul that I am, along with a little tradition, culture, and family backround.

Dia De Los Muertos is a very festive event. A time to celebrate the life of those who have passed. I am currently helping a friend build an altar for one of her family memebers. It will be displayed at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary. There's a lot of work that is going into this altar. From small personal memories to her family's roots. It's going to be an amazing set up, and put me in just the right mood for this piece.

This painting is for the Dia De Los Muertos show at the Sabor Lounge. It will be taking place October 30th. I am so greatful to be a part of the show and to be displaying with such amazing artists.. Here is a non-completed image of what is to come...

....I'm trying on..

I have become fascinated with corsets...Yes they are cute and sexy....but when I really began researching them they also became restraining and unecessary..

The corset was the focal point originally...then because I wanted to submit it to a Dia De Los Muertos show.... I added the skeleton body...

This gave it a whole different twist...




Acrylic on canvas...this was an idea i was playing with...but am now making a series.... working with different styles,
textures and color schemes....one for every type of woman... ;)

One more thing....

this is a flyer i did as part of the ALTO ARIZONA! campaign....a bill was passed that pretty much made racial profiling legal and has made Arizona a police state....This needs to be stopped before other states decide to adopt this racist action against people of color....being harrassed because of the the color of your skin is only going to cause more problems in America and we all need to work together to stop this....for more information visit.... www.altoarizona.com

....Give Love, A Bad Name...

Walking away with a smoking gun....a sexy woman in heels...this image was stuck in my head for years..... finally came out subconciously while painting a human heart....the lyrics were stuck in my head from listening to Sage Francis, he slowly mumbles them at the end of a song....then being reinforced by the google search because I knew I had heard those words before....Bon Jovi came up.....and ultimately becoming an image on my canvas that spoke to so many frustrated women...women who feel empowered by this sort of behavior...even if it was just once...



24"X36" ... acrylic on canvas....I received many comments on this....mostly from women....men sort of cringed at the sight of it....some thought it was dramatic....overall I'm pretty happy with it....I'm going to make the woman's shadow more defined....and will display it at the Cannibal Flower show coming up on May 22nd....also available on print...
